Harvest Functional Medicine FAQ: Empowering Your Health Insights

What is Functional Medicine?

As a catalyst in the transformation of healthcare, functional medicine takes a comprehensive approach to prevention, health, and well-being; treats root causes of disease; and restores healthy function through a personalized patient experience — all while being a vital partner to conventional medicine.

What services do you provide?

At this time, Harvest Functional Medicine is focusing efforts on women's health and wellness, ages 15+. â€‹We specialize in hormone health, gut health, and autoimmune disease. If you are wondering if we will be a good fit for you, please schedule a 15 minute consult call and we will assess if we are a good match for your needs! There is potential for us to open our scope to more specialities and populations soon, so please stay tuned with our status even if we are not a good match right now!

Do I have to live in Colorado to work with you?

You must be in the state of Colorado for every appointment with our providers. This is because medical licenses are state-specific, even when practicing over telemedicine. These laws are in place to protect you, and protect our license.

Do you take insurance?

We do not take insurance, but we can accept HSA/FSA cards for payment.

The reason that we do not work directly with insurance companies is because insurance rarely covers for functional medicine services, and often limits the services we are able to provide for you. While this can be a disadvantage to functional medicine, it does benefit you in many ways: we are able to provide advanced treatment options that are not yet covered by insurance, your treatment plan will be personalized, your provider is able to spend more dedicated time with you, and you also are aware of all costs upfront so you can plan ahead for bills.

Are Lab fees included in appointment cost?

No, lab fees will be in addition to your appointment cost, unless you have signed up for the Total Functional Medicine program. Every person requires a different set of lab work, so we will work together to build your lab set to fit your needs and budget.

How does the Total Functional Medicine Program work?

When you purchase the total FM program, you are automatically scheduled for your first intake appointment with your Certified Functional Medicine Provider. You will then have a bank of 12 follow up appointments that you are able to use throughout the remainder of the year. You will also be automatically enrolled in a 3-month Nutritional Therapy program, and similarly will be enrolled for 5 Health Coaching sessions with a health coach that is a good fit for you. Also included in the cost is your initial comprehensive labs including GI, hormone, and mycotoxin testing. â€‹
